At Saint Croix Plastic Surgery & MediSpa, we’re focused on establishing an international reputation as the premier cosmetic surgery practice in the Eastern Caribbean. Our practice, located on St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, offers a broad range of aesthetic and reconstructive surgical procedures from an American Board of Plastic Surgery certified surgeon, Dr. Robert F. Centeno. Our specialized training in facial rejuvenation, breast procedures, body contouring, massive weight loss body contouring, varicose and spider vein treatments, and laser procedures help ensure you receive the best care. Since opening our doors in April 2008, we continue to uphold the principles behind our practice’s incorporation: To create a new class of medical practice that raises the standard of care in aesthetic plastic surgery and focuses on collaboration among our team members.
Saint Croix Plastic Surgery & MediSpa combines the experience and specialized training of Dr. Robert Centeno with state-of-the-art technology. After completing a prestigious fellowship in cosmetic surgery and gaining a national reputation in practice, Dr. Centeno brings his advanced skills and the latest aesthetic surgery techniques to the US Virgin Islands. To our knowledge, Saint Croix Plastic Surgery & MediSpa is the only cosmetic surgery practice in the region with a highly specialized, fellowship-trained surgeon. Our surgeon’s technical training and experience gives our patients more options for achieving the results they want. Dr. Centeno is also an attending physician at the JCAHO accredited Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center.
Our approach of patient-focused care is a core value of Saint Croix Plastic Surgery & MediSpa. We understand that seeking elective plastic surgery is an intensely personal decision that demands a true partnership between you and your surgeon. Thus, we respect our patients as partners in the process. Having any kind of elective surgery is an important choice, and we want our patients to be well informed about what to expect. We appreciate that patients may need to think about their options without feeling pressured to make a decision. Consequently, second consultations are common and encouraged. If a patient requests a procedure that’s not appropriate, we will take the time to help the patient understand our rationale and offer alternatives.
OUR STAFF
Lisa Vargo, Patient Coordinator and Office Manager
Lisa came to Saint Croix Plastic Surgery & MediSpa in the Spring of 2008 as patient coordinator and office manager. She holds degrees in Design and Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. Before joining our team, Lisa served as District Manager for Cook Medical, a surgical device and biotechnology company. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Lisa has called Tampa, Florida home for the last 13 years. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering for animal shelters and women’s organizations. For relaxation, Lisa enjoys exercising and spin classes, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.
Mariela Ruiz, Administrative Coordinator
Mariela has been with the practice since its founding in 2008. She serves as administrative coordinator and is the friendly voice and face of St. Croix Plastic Surgery. Mariela is the proud mother of a daughter Marie, who is a first grader at the Good Hope School, her mother’s high school alma mater. She is currently completing her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a concentration in Human Resources Management and enjoys travelling for fun.
Shasta Cruz, Medical Assistant & Surgical Technologist
Shasta joined St. Croix Plastic Surgery in November of 2009 after completing her training as a Surgical Technologist and serving as an instructor in the Medical Assistant Program at Everest University in Tampa, FL. A native of St. Croix, she grew up in the South Florida area and relocated her family to St. Croix. She is the mother of three wonderful children, Yahmilette, Leon III, and Yahleona. Her hobbies include serving as head cheerleader and manager of her entire family’s softball and baseball activities. Professionally, Shasta enjoys developing relationships with patients and the continuity of care that comes from assisting in the office as well as the operating room. Helping patients through the entire Plastic Surgery planning and recovery process is one of her fortes!
Charlene Springer, Aesthetician
Charlene is the most recent addition to the St. Croix Plastic Surgery family. She serves as an independent Aesthetician and offers a full range of integrated spa services. Her expertise includes Vodder Certification in Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy, a healing modality that is excellent for peri-operative swelling and musculoskeletal injuries. She is also an accomplished make-up artist. Charlene is well known in the St. Croix community, not only for excellence in her field, but also as an advocate for women’s issues. In addition to her offering of wonderful and luxurious services, Charlene also shares of herself by hosting her own radio show entitled “Beyond Empowerment” on WSTX AM 970. The show focuses on exploring new ideas, sharing spirituality, and creating new solutions for empowering women of our community.
